Water well in schools
Water wells in the schools of Londoto and Msitu wa Tembo
In cooperation with Dorothy’s Wells, a charity from the United Kingdom, we installed a solar water well in the primary school of Londoto in 2015. In October 2016 a solar well was installed between the two primary schools of Msitu wa Tembo. Thanks to this newest well, more than 1600 students have free access to clean water. Also, the 10,000 patients who visit the dispensary yearly will benefit from improved health care, and 300 families living close by can purchase water for an affordable price.
In Londoto as well as in Msitu wa Tembo, TATU Project brought together stakeholders from the schools, the village executive office, the dispensary, the water association and representatives of the parents to form a water committee. They will be responsible in the future to maintain the well, repair damages and collect payments for the water.
